Even though Harris won El Paso County, the Democratic margin of victory was reduced by 20% from 2020, with Trump winning 42% of the vote in the county. This was the highest vote share in the county by a Republican nominee since 2004, when former Governor of Texas George W. Bush won 43% of the vote in the county.
By 2020, it had flipped completely and Trump lost it by 7 points. And last year, it was the rare county in America that actually got bluer, with Harris pushing the margin to 9 points.
