The Ponce de Leon Inlet Light is a lighthouse and museum located at Ponce de León Inlet in Central Florida. At 175 feet (53 m) in height, it is the tallest lighthouse in the state and one of the tallest in the United States (the Cape Hatteras Light in North Carolina is taller at 207 feet (63 m)).
Camilo Ponce Enríquez is a parish and town in the Azuay province in southern Ecuador. It is the seat of the Camilo Ponce Enríquez canton and is located roughly 230 miles southwest of Quito, the capital city of Ecuador. It is named for Camilo Ponce Enríquez (1912–1976), who served as president of Ecuador from 1956 to 1960.
History. Prior to being established as a barrio of Ponce, around 1597, the bay of Ponce had a small place populated by Christian European settlers that was called Bucaná. In 1800, Bucaná was known as Coto Bucaná, a type of grant of land suitable for farming to a resident by the Spanish king in recognition for some service provided by the resident to the King.
