20 July 2024. The Jharkhand High Court is one of the newest high courts in India. It was established in 2000. The court has jurisdiction over Jharkhand state. The seat of the court is at Ranchi, the administrative capital of the state. The court has a sanctioned judge strength of 25. The new building of the Jharkhand High Court has been approved.
The Moot Court Committee organized the 1st NUSRL National Trial Advocacy Competition in 2015, which included participants from 18 law universities across India. Following the inaugural event, the university hosted the 2nd NUSRL National Trial Advocacy Competition in 2017 and the 3rd edition from 17 to 20 May 2018.

He was appointed by Union of India as Senior Standing Counsel on 26 June 2004. On 14 July 2008 Ranjan was elevated as an Additional Judge of Patna High Court. He became the permanent Judge on 16 January 2010. He was appointed the Chief Justice of High Court of Jharkhand on 17 November 2019. He was retired on 19 December 2022.
