San Antonio (/ ˌ s æ n æ n ˈ t oʊ n i oʊ / SAN an-TOH-nee-oh; Spanish for "Saint Anthony"), officially the City of San Antonio, is a city in the U.S. state of Texas and the most populous city in Greater San Antonio, the third-largest metropolitan area in Texas and the 24th-largest metropolitan area in the United States at 2.6 million people in 2020.
In September, 2009, the City of San Antonio transferred 3,000 acres (12 km 2) of land to the TPWD for inclusion in the Natural Area, specifically to support long-term protection of the Edwards Aquifer, and thereby increasing the total acreage within the reserve from 8,783 acres (35.54 km 2) to 11,783 acres (47.68 km 2).

Ronald Adrian Nirenberg (born April 11, 1977) [1] is an American politician who is the mayor of San Antonio, Texas. Prior to his election, Nirenberg served as a member of the San Antonio City Council for District 8 for two terms. [2] In 2013, Nirenberg was first elected in an upset victory to represent district 8 of the San Antonio City Council.
