As of September 2012, the Government of New Brunswick decided to merge and rename all the school districts changing the number of districts from 14 to 7. [5] By doing this, the provinces minister of education estimates $5 million would be saved in administrative costs. [6]

The boys' soccer team won the Group III state championship in 1993, defeating Parsippany High School by a score of 2-1 in the tournament final to finish the season with a record of 15-5-2.
South Brunswick High School (SBHS) is a comprehensive community public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades at the school located in the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick, in Middlesex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as the lone secondary school of the South Brunswick Public Schools.
As of the 2021–22 school year, the district, comprising six schools, had an enrollment of 2,144 students and 170.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.6:1.
