Jharkhand ( / ˈdʒɑːrkənd /; [8] Hindi: [d͡ʒʱɑːɾkʰəɳɖ]; lit. 'the land of forests') is a state in eastern India. [9] The state shares its border with the states of West Bengal to the west, Chhattisgarh to the east, Uttar Pradesh to the southeast, Bihar to the south and Odisha to the north.

On that day the committee, under the leadership of Justice Shahdeo called for Jharkhand Bandh and organised a protest march.
