The Merchandise Mart (or the Merch Mart, or the Mart) is a commercial building located in downtown Chicago, Illinois. When it was opened in 1930, it was the largest building in the world, with 4 million square feet (372,000 m 2) of floor space. [1] [2] The Art Deco structure is located at the junction of the Chicago River 's branches.
Today's CCC is the result of that reorganization effort. In 1967, CCC member Richard McPherren Cabeen offered the Collectors Club of Chicago his four-level brownstone home, located in Chicago's downtown "Gold Coast" area at 1029 North Dearborn Street. His offer was accepted, and the building has served as the CCC Clubhouse since.
