CaMLA was created as a joint venture to develop the Michigan tests and services, originally established by the English Language Institute (ELI) of the University of Michigan. The Michigan English Test (MET) is a multilevel, modular English language examination, which measures English language proficiency in personal, public, occupational and educational contexts. [1] It is developed by CaMLA, a not-for-profit collaboration between the University of Michigan and the University of Cambridge and has been in use since 2008.
Institutions can administer the test, calculate scores and report back to test takers within one day. [7] Test takers receive a scaled score between 0–100. If the test taker receives a score that indicates that the test is too difficult or too easy for them, the institution should consider using a different MTELP level.
