www.humber.ca. The Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, branded as Humber Polytechnic since 2024, is a public college in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 1967, Humber has three main campuses and locations: the Humber North campus, the Lakeshore campus, and the International Graduate School.
Humber College is a below-grade light rail transit (LRT) station that is under construction on Line 6 Finch West, a new line that is part of the Toronto subway system. The station will be located at the southwest corner of Highway 27 and Humber College Boulevard on the Humber Polytechnic North Campus in Etobicoke , Toronto .
Several of its neighbourhoods, such as Long Branch, New Toronto, and Mimico, were villages independent of Etobicoke. Others, such as Claireville, Islington and Thistletown were former postal villages established when Etobicoke was an agrarian district. In 1991, Humber College signed a 99-year lease on the property. [11] The College then started renovating the cottages for use as offices and classrooms. By April 2015, all but the Administration building, known as Building G were renovated. This last cottage underwent restoration and was opened in September 2016 as the Centre for Entrepreneurship.
