A 2007 study by U.S. News & World Report ranked the high school branch of Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center amongst the top high schools in the United States. The school opened in 2008 as a high school, and gained its Columbus Global Academy name in 2009. That same year, a middle school was added to it from Mifflin.
