WGN Weekend Morning News (2011–present) The WGN Morning News is an American morning television news program airing on WGN-TV (channel 9), an independent television station and national superstation in Chicago, Illinois owned by Nexstar Media Group. The program broadcasts every day from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. Central Time .
On February 22, 2010, WGN-TV became the first television station in the Chicago market to allow iPhone users to watch live streams of its newscasts; the 6 to 9 a.m. block of the WGN Morning News, the midday and 5 p.m. newscasts were initially available for streaming to iPhone users.
