History. Curtin University was founded in 1966 as the Western Australian Institute of Technology. The four people who drove its establishment were Lesley Phillips, who was Superintendent of Technical Education from 1943 to 1948; George Hayman, who held the same position from 1948 until 1962; T.L. Robertson, Director of Education; and Haydn Williams, Director of Technical Education.

NIILM University campus is located in the small town of Kaithal, spread over 22 acres of land near Kiorak village on the Kaithal to Ambala National Highway 65 in Haryana. It is also the first private university in rural areas and was established by NIILM Education Trust in 2011 under the Haryana Private University Act.
Early life and education. Dionne was born in 1977 on the Castle Air Force Base. Her mother, Chong Hui Kim Shimakawa, was from a rural village in Korea. She earned a B.A. in political science and international relations (1999), M.A. (2007) and Ph.D. (2010) in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she was a FLAS fellow in Kiswahili/African Studies.
