The Bangladesh Navy (Bengali: বাংলাদেশ নৌবাহিনী, romanized: Bangladesh Nou Bahini) is the naval warfare branch of the Bangladesh Armed Forces, responsible for the defence of Bangladesh's 118,813 square kilometres (45,874 sq mi) of maritime territorial area, and the security of sea ports and exclusive economic zones of Bangladesh.

She is currently based at Chattogram, serving with the Commodore Commanding BN Flotilla (COMBAN). She is currently the only frigate of the Bangladesh Navy armed with ASW torpedo and gun based CIWS .
Somudra Joy. BNS Somudra Joy [1] [note 1] is one of the two largest ships of the Bangladesh Navy along with her sister ship BNS Somudra Avijan. Although originally a high endurance cutter the Bangladesh Navy reclassified the ship as a frigate. They acquired the ship from the United States under Excess Defense Articles.
The main objective of this naval base is to coordinate disaster response services alongside running their naval information technology programme and naval intelligence training and operating helicopters of the force. Later the School of Supply and Secretariat (S&S) renamed as the School of Logistics & Management (SOLAM) at its current location Lobonchora, Khulna in 2008.
