Maricopa County (/ ˌ m ær ɪ ˈ k oʊ p ə /) is in the south-central part of the U.S. state of Arizona.As of the 2020 census the population was 4,420,568, or about 62% of the state's total, making it the fourth-most populous county in the United States and the most populous county in Arizona, and making Arizona one of the nation's most centralized states.
Vulture City's post office was established on October 4, 1880, and Henry Wickenburg was the town's first postmaster. The town had more than five boarding houses and several buildings. The huge Vulture Mine-Assay Office building, built in 1884, still stands today. The town also had a cookhouse and mess hall plus stores, saloons and even a school.
