Dickinson Independent School District is a school district based in Dickinson, Texas, United States in Greater Houston. DISD serves most of the city of Dickinson as well as portions of the cities of La Marque , League City , and Texas City and some houses in unincorporated Galveston County (including most of Bacliff and all of San Leon ).
On December 2, 2015, Texas Education Agency Commissioner Michael Williams announced that Texas City ISD would absorb the La Marque Independent School District (LMISD) effective July 1, 2016. By February 2016 TCISD began doing job interviews of teachers at LMISD schools, and it was checking to see what renovations are needed at LMISD schools. [6]
