The Maranao people ( Maranao: ['mәranaw]; Filipino: Maranaw [2] ), also spelled Meranao, Maranaw, and Mëranaw, is a predominantly Muslim Filipino ethnic group native to the region around Lanao Lake in the island of Mindanao.
