Marina Park in Spring Creek, Nevada The community was developed in the 1970s by C. V. Wood , president of McCulloch Oil, as three large housing sections. [ 5 ] The western section, at the base of the Elko Hills, is located near the post office (zip 89815), a shopping center, and a supermarket.
The University of Nevada, Reno is the oldest university in Nevada and Nevada System of Higher Education. In 1886, the state university, previously only a college preparatory school, moved from Elko in remote northeastern Nevada to north of downtown Reno, where it became a full-fledged state college. On June 29, 1994, Laughlin experienced the hottest temperature in Nevada state history at 125 °F (51.7 °C). [19] At 10a the hardiness zone is the highest of any weather station in Nevada.

While skiing alone, Bono struck a tree on "Orion", an intermediate slope high on Heavenly's Nevada side, in Stateline. The 2007 film Smokin' Aces was filmed (known at the time) at the Horizon and the MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa (fictionalized in-film as the "Nomad") featuring many views of the shore from Aces' suite at the casino.
