Brookville High School has been rated "Excellent" since 2002 by the Ohio Department of Education. The school met all 12 of the state indicators for the 2005–2006 school year. [2] For the 2007–2008 and –2011-2012 school years, the school was rated "Excellent with Distinction", meeting 29 of the 30 state indicators.
Since then, every school year following the 2003–2004 school year has been rated as "Excellent". Recently, in the 2010–2011 school year the school met 12 out of 12 school indicators, their performance index was a 106.8 out of 120 possible points and they met the Adequate Yearly Progress.
