Tocoi Creek High School (TCHS) is a new public high school in the World Golf Village census-designated place, [3] in north central area of St. Johns County, Florida near St. Augustine. It is part of the St. Johns County School District and opened to students for the 2021-22 academic year. World Golf Village is zoned to Tocoi Creek. [3][4]
With the tremendous population growth, the number of St. Johns County academic high schools tripled between 2000 and 2008. For the 2007-2008 school year, the district had an enrollment of 27,514 students, which according to the St. Augustine Record continued its ranking as "one of the fastest-growing school districts in the state" of Florida. From the 2022-23 school year, Allen D. Nease Senior High School is zoned to serve the communities of Nocatee, Ponte Vedra, Palencia, Kensington and Las Calinas. To qualify for band, strings, and all High School auditions, students must audition by recordings, which are judged by a blind panel of music educators. Middle School Choir auditions are conducted by each participating school's teacher. The successful students travel to the host school and participate in the practice days and the final concert.
