Port Jefferson is the terminus for the Port Jefferson Branch of the Long Island Rail Road in Port Jefferson Station, New York. The station is located on New York State Route 25A (Main Street), on the north side of the tracks, but is also accessible from Oakland Avenue, as well as Railroad Avenue and Union Street on the south side of the tracks.
History. Northport station was originally built between May and July 1873 as "New Northport" station when the Smithtown and Port Jefferson Railroad was built from Northport Junction to Port Jefferson, New York. The original line, which led directly into a station within Northport Village since April 25, 1868, became the Northport Branch.

History. Mastic–Shirley station was built as a replacement for the former Mastic station (originally Forge station) built in 1882 and located 7,010 feet (2.14 km) east on Mastic Road.
