Jean William Fritz Piaget ( UK: / piˈæʒeɪ /, [1] [2] US: / ˌpiːəˈʒeɪ, pjɑːˈʒeɪ /, [3] [4] [5] French: [ʒɑ̃ pjaʒɛ]; 9 August 1896 – 16 September 1980) was a Swiss psychologist known for his work on child development. Piaget's theory of cognitive development and epistemological view are together called genetic epistemology.
Overview. The neo-Piagetian theories aim to correct one or more of the following weaknesses in Piaget's theory: Piaget's developmental stage theory proposes that people develop through various stages of cognitive development, but his theory does not sufficiently explain why development from stage to stage occurs. Penrith and Solway is a proposed constituency of the House of Commons in the UK Parliament. Further to the completion of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, it will first be contested at the 2024 general election.
The constituency is composed of the following wards of the London Borough of Newham (as they existed on 1 December 2020):. Canning Town (North and South), Custom House, Plaistow (North and South) and West Ham from the abolished West Ham constituency.
