The academy, like most Stride-supplied schools, provides the student with textbooks, materials, and a loaned computer, so the student can access their online lessons.
Students work from home on school-supplied computers; they correspond with teachers and send in assignments electronically. The Akron school district has the largest such program in Ohio. Students who complete the program through 12th grade graduate with a regular high school diploma and even a cap-and-gown graduation ceremony.
Teays Valley West Middle School. The school is located on 74.94 acres in the Village of Commercial Point, Ohio. The property was obtained in 2008 and is located next to Scioto Elementary.
