Central Pacific Bank. Central Pacific Bank is an American regional commercial bank headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii. It was founded by Koichi Iida, a Honolulu business leader, with assistance from Sumitomo Bank in Japan. Mr. Iida was President from 1954 to 1960. [1] It is the main subsidiary of Central Pacific Financial Corporation (NYSE: CPF).
Iida was born on May 20, 1888, in Osaka, son of Matsukichi Iida, who moved to Honolulu in 1895. [ 1] In 1906 Koichi Iida graduated from Osaka Commercial School.
