Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts was established in February 2004 in San Mateo, California. The school’s headquarters and main campus have moved to San Jose, CA, as of January 2024. As of January 2024 [update] , Gurnick Academy operates six campuses in addition to online distance-learning programs and courses.
The site in Evergreen, in East San Jose, was chosen in 1967. The college was officially named Evergreen Valley College in 1970 and opened to its first class in 1975. The college expanded to include the biological sciences, nursing education programs, a library, a student center, a center for the arts, and the Montgomery Hill Observatory.
The university is part of the California State University system and offers 136 undergraduate and 60 post-baccalaureate areas of study.
