It originated from the Grotius School of Law and Professional Studies, which started in February 2001. The University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN; Zulu: INyuvesi yakwaZulu-Natali, Afrikaans: Universiteit van KwaZulu-Natal) is a university with five campuses in the province of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. [13] It continued operating in this capacity until the Ugandan Parliament (Act No. 35, July 2016) elevated it to an independent public university. Since 1 August 2016, it has been referred to as Lira University. [10] [14]
