The University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus (UPRM) or Recinto Universitario de Mayagüez (RUM) in Spanish (also referred to as Colegio and CAAM in allusion to its former name), is a public land-grant university in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. UPRM is the second-largest university campus of the University of Puerto Rico system.

In 1946 the "Colegio" was one of the most successful universities in sports in Puerto Rico. By that time Johnny Weissmüller had made the character of Tarzan very popular, his character incarnated masculinity, courage and athleticism and for that reason, up until 1946 the university would dress a student up as the loincloth Tarzan to cheer on the Mayagüez student-athletes.
The UPRM College of Engineering is one of four colleges of the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez. This school is also the largest of its kind in Puerto Rico , with an enrollment of about 5,000 undergraduate students and about 400 graduates.

The RUM General Library (Spanish: Biblioteca del Recinto Universitario de Mayagüez) is the main library for the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez. It consists of a main library and a specialized collection. Building. The Mayagüez Campus General library building was inaugurated in 1963. It was designed by Henry Klumb.
