History. Founded in 1957 as Bloom Township Junior College, Prairie State College's (PSC) first classes were held in 1958 in the basement of the First Christian Church. Richard Jones Hamilton, First Circuit Court Clerk of Cook County, 1831–1841. On January 1, 1964, the circuit courts of Cook County were unified.
