Presidential Fitness Test. The Presidential Fitness Test was a national physical fitness testing program conducted in United States public middle and high schools from the late 1950s until 2013, when it was replaced with the Presidential Youth Fitness Program.
The primary objective of the PSAA is to help schools improve the academic achievement of all students. From the 1970s, California students took the same statewide test, called the California Assessment Program (CAP).
