The Jharkhand Legislative Assembly is the unicameral state legislature of Jharkhand state in India. The seat of the Legislative Assembly is at Ranchi, the capital of the state. The term of the Legislative Assembly is five years, unless dissolved earlier. Presently, it comprises 81 members who are directly elected from single-seat constituencies.
Jharkhand state elects six members and they are indirectly elected by the state legislators of Jharkhand. The number of seats allocated to the party, are determined by the number of seats a party possesses during nomination and the party nominates a member to be voted on.
C. P. Radhakrishnan (born 4 May 1957) is an Indian politician who is serving 24th and current Governor of Maharashtra since 31 July 2024. He also served as the Governor of Jharkhand from February 2023 to July 2024, and as the as Governor of Telangana (Additional Charge) and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry (Additional Charge) between March 2024 to July 2024.
