The Stoddart Block is a historic building in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. The building was constructed in 1911 and designed by the local firm David Riebel & Sons. It was designed for a large furniture store, the Frohock Furniture Company, which operated there until 1938.
In 1926, Bishop James Hartley purchased a house and 77 acres of land which had formerly belonged to Martha Green Deshler, [1] daughter of the prominent Columbus businessman John G. Deshler who owned the Deshler Hotel and financed the building of the Wyandotte Building, the first skyscraper in Columbus.
