The University of Cincinnati (UC or Cincinnati, informally Cincy) is a public research university in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States.Founded in 1819 as Cincinnati College, it is the second oldest institution of higher education in the Cincinnati area (behind Miami University) and has an annual enrollment of over 50,000 students, making it the second largest university in Ohio.
The college is located in Carl H. Lindner Hall. On June 21, 2011, the college was named after Carl Henry Lindner, Jr. in honor of the contributions he has made to the university, college, and the business community.
