The George Brown College of Applied Arts and Technology is a public, fully accredited college of applied arts and technology with three campuses in downtown Toronto ( Ontario, Canada ). Life and work. Brown was born in Portobello, London, in 1930, as one of non-identical twins. His father was a lens maker and his mother had been a waitress. He left school at 16 and initially moved between a number of jobs, including work in the Post Office [clarification needed]. In 1948, he was called up for national service in the Air Force.
Biography. Brown was born in Rushville, Indiana, and entered the navy as a midshipman on February 5, 1849. He subsequently served aboard the Cumberland in the Mediterranean Squadron (1849–1851) and St. Lawrence in the Pacific Squadron (1851–1854). [1] He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1855.
