Ekibastuz GRES-1 (also known as: AES-Ekibastuz) is a 4,000 MW coal-fired thermal power station at Ekibastusz, Kazakhstan. It is located by lake Zhyngyldy. The ashes of the station are dumped into nearby lake Karasor. [1] GRES-1 has two 330-metre (1,083 ft) tall chimneys.
