Sale to Pakistan. The six surviving Type 21 frigates were sold to Pakistan in 1993ā1994 for 60 million US dollars. The Exocet and Seacat were removed before the sale and the frigates were given a basic refit at Karachi with US Harpoon anti-ship missile. Three of them were fitted with Phalanx CIWS, the others with 40mm Bofors L70 guns.
HMS. Alacrity. (F174) HMS Alacrity was a Type 21 frigate of the Royal Navy . Alacrity was active during the Falklands War of 1982, where she sank a supply ship, survived Exocet-missile attacks and rescued men from the Atlantic Conveyor. She was transferred to Pakistan on 1 March 1994 and renamed PNS Badr .

HMS. Ambuscade. (F172) HMS Ambuscade was a Type 21 frigate of the Royal Navy. She was built by Yarrow Shipbuilders Ltd, Glasgow, Scotland. She entered service in 1975. Ambuscade took part in the Falklands War of 1982. Ambuscade was sold to Pakistan in 1993 and served their navy as PNS Tariq until 2023.
