Santa Clara (/ ˌ s æ n t ə ˈ k l ær ə / SAN-tə KLARR-ə; Spanish for "Saint Clare") [8] is a city in the county of the same name in the state of California. The city's population was 127,647 at the 2020 census, making it the eighth-most populous city in the Bay Area.
The Santa Clara Valley Health and Hospital System was established in 1993. It became the Santa Clara County Health System in March 2019 after the county acquired O'Connor Hospital, Saint Louise Regional Hospital, and DePaul Health Center (now VHC Morgan Hill) from Verity Health System to prevent the hospitals' closure.
