PCCC has four campuses located throughout the county it serves. The main campus is located in Paterson, New Jersey, and opened in 1971.The Paterson campus is located on a stretch of Van Houten Street in downtown Paterson called College Boulevard, and occupies a footprint that extends out to Broadway near the Paterson Public Safety Complex.
In 1946, degree conferring status was granted and the academy became a college. Two years later, the college was one of the original institutions incorporated into the State University of New York system. In 1949, just one year later, the newly-minted university took on its current name, the State University of New York Maritime College. [4]
These reforms, combined with the addition of new Joint Degree Programs with City College of New York in 1975 and Manhattanville College in 1978, helped the law school to recruit new students. Dean Shapiro's reform of the curriculum was behind New York Law School gaining membership to the Association of American Law Schools in 1974.
Under a $1 billion CUNY-wide improvement program, Queens College's Powdermaker Hall was given a $57 million renovation, begun in 2000. Matos Rodriguez was appointed president of Queens College by the CUNY Board of Trustees in 2014. [28]
Four years later, the school was given junior college status and renamed the New York State Agricultural and Technical College at Alfred. By 1948, the enrollment grew to such large numbers that the state government decided to allow it room to expand, moving the school across Main Street from Alfred University, where it remains today.
