Brentwood School has a history of hosting the annual Special Olympics Games put on in conjunction with the Special Olympics Southern California Westside Chapter. In 2003, Brentwood-area resident (and former Governor of California ) Arnold Schwarzenegger was the Guest of Honor and presided over the Special Olympics Games' Opening Ceremony.
