For over 30 years, Dr. Lyle Yost provided dental services to the residents of Delta County. Lyle was diagnosed with cancer in 2007 and eventually succumbed to it in September 2008. Originally named Colorado Springs High School, Palmer High School was renamed in 1959 after the city's founder, General William Jackson Palmer.
