Wikipedia. : Unified login. Unified login or SUL ( single user login) is a mechanism which allows users to use a single global login on all public Wikimedia Foundation projects. This allows users to maintain a consistent identity throughout Wikimedia and work on different projects without having to sign up and log in to each project individually.
User accounts created since May 2008 will be "unified" (that is, accessible from all Wikimedia projects). An older, non-unified account can be unified at Special:MergeAccount; unified users can use that page to check the status of their unified account. Preferences are currently set independently on each wiki. See m:Single login.
Unified access management solutions provide a single platform from which IT can manage access across a diverse set of users, devices, and applications, whether on-premise or in the cloud. [1] Unified access management (UAM) is an evolution of identity and access management (IAM) systems.

The developers have started to implement single user login. This allows someone to reserve the rights to the use of a username globally across all Wikimedia projects. This is likely to result in a number of beneficial features - for example it might become possible to sign in to one project and be automatically logged in on others.
The first default parameter uses {{PAGENAME}} to find your username. If your unified login name is not the same, replace "username here" appropriately. The "background" parameter, if not included, defaults to #E0E8EF ( dark grey, see Web colors#Hex triplet) The "border" parameter, if not included, also defaults to #E0E8EF.
