Chaffey College of Agriculture, 1885. The Chaffey College of Agriculture, founded by the Ontario founders George and William Chaffey, opened on October 15, 1885.The institution, which also had a secondary school, was operated by the University of Southern California until 1901, when it came under the control of the local community and was renamed Ontario High School.
Fifty-four students enrolled in the college's first year, and in 1940, the first graduating class consisted of eight students. [2] In 1974, the college became a full member of the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education. On September 1, 1991, the name was officially changed to Redlands Community College.
In 2001, the School of Education partnered with the Lewis Center for Educational Research in Apple Valley, California to offer Preliminary Teaching Credentials onsite and serve Apple Valley and the surrounding high desert communities. In 2008, the University of Redlands School of Education expanded to a second regional campus in Orange County. [45]
