The school was named after John Fraser who retired as Director of the Peel District School Board in 1988. The school was established in 1990. [1] In 2002, the school began an expansion which resulted in a new wing being added on to the school to meet the rising population.
The school is named after Harold M. Brathwaite (d.2020), a former Director of Education of the Peel District School Board, who retired in 2003, which is also when the school opened.
