The Cardiff University Students' Union is a student-run organisation aiming to promote student interests within the university and further afield. The Cardiff University Students' Union building is near Cathays Park, next to Cathays railway station. It has shops, a night club and the studios of Xpress Radio and Gair Rhydd, the student newspaper.
Cardiff University medical students are able to join both all the Cardiff University clubs and societies, and also clubs and societies run specifically for students studying medicine, and in some cases other healthcare sciences. These clubs and societies are run by Cardiff Medsoc which is the Medsoc within Cardiff University Students' Union.
Cardiff is the only university that offers all professional law courses such as: Graduate diploma in law (GDL), Legal practice course (LPC), and Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC). The school offers many undergraduate programs such as LLB law with criminology, political science, sociology, French, German and Welsh. [3]
The school was formerly housed in the Bute Building of the university's Cathays Park campus. In September 2018 it moved to 2 Central Square, north of Cardiff Central railway station and adjacent to New Broadcasting House, the headquarters of BBC Cymru Wales. The school has agreed to take 42,000 sq ft (3,900 m 2) in the building.
