The state shares its border with the states of Bihar to the north, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh to the west, Odisha to the south, and West Bengal to the east. It has an area of 79,710 km2 (30,778 sq mi).
Jamshedpur is the 84th fastest growing city in the world according to the City Mayors Foundation. It is one of the first Smart Cities in India along with Naya Raipur. [15] It is the headquarters of the East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand and is the 36th – largest urban agglomeration and 72nd largest city in India by population.
