Clovis Community College was established in 1961 as a branch campus of Eastern New Mexico University in conjunction with the Clovis Municipal Schools. The current campus was constructed in 1978 and rests on 25 acres (100,000 m 2) of land donated by Ervin Schepps. Over time, CCC grew to cover 100 acres (0.40 km 2 ).
At least two parents in Clovis were arrested in 1999 on truancy-related charges after their teenage children repeatedly missed school. Terry Myers became the superintendent in 2010. He was formerly the superintendent of Mount Pleasant Independent School District. In 2012 the board of trustees continued the term of the superintendent.

The Eastern New Mexico News is a daily broadsheet newspaper published in Clovis in Curry County, New Mexico. It was formed in 2016 by the merger of the Clovis News Journal and the Portales News-Tribune. Owner Clovis Media had acquired both papers from Freedom Communications in 2012. Clovis Media also owns the Quay County Sun in Tucumcari.
