Remove your AOL account and set it up again in the Thunderbird email client. For more info on how to connect accounts, go to Thunderbird's website. Go to Tools | Account Settings. Select your account in the list. Go to Account Actions at the bottom left. Click Remove Accounts. Click Add Accounts and type in the email address and password.
When creating an app password, use a browser that you've used to sign into AOL Mail for several days in a row and avoid using Incognito mode. If this isn’t successful, use webmail or the official AOL App to access your email. Customer care can’t override this process of determining App Password creation eligibility.
Settings may be in a different location in each email client, though the AOL server and port settings will always be the same. For additional questions specific to the email client, check the manufacturer’s website. Manufacturers cannot answer questions about your Netscape/AOL Mail settings, or your Netscape username or password.
