Lowestoft Sixth Form College is a modern purpose-built building. It was designed by Atkins and constructed by Morgan Sindall, [3] it consists of 8060m 2 of learning space for up to 1000 students. Accommodation is on four floors. In 2012 it was announced as a winner of a Royal Institute of British Architects ’ Craftsmanship award. [3]

East Coast Hockey Club is the town's field hockey side formed in 2019 as a result of a merger between Lowestoft Railway Hockey Club and Lowestoft Ladies Hockey Club. They play their home matches at East Point Academy. The town's main leisure centre, the Waterlane Leisure Centre, was redeveloped at a cost of £8 million in 2010–2011.
East Coast College is a Further Education (FE) college which has campuses in Lowestoft, Suffolk and Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. Following a six-month pilot area review in 2014, it was proposed that the merger of Great Yarmouth College and Lowestoft College would result in improved education and training provision locally.
