It is supported by the Junior College District of St. Louis City – St. Louis County, servicing 718 square miles.
In 1976, the JCD changed its name to St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley, Forest Park and Meramec. In 1999, the Jack E. Miller Hospitality Studies Center opened at Forest Park, with "state-of-the-art facilities for culinary arts." On September 24, 2009, a suspicious package was found in a men's restroom in the D Building.
STLCC-WW is also tobacco-free, not only in the buildings but on all campus property. The main campus 75,000-square-foot (7,000 m 2 ) building houses high-tech classrooms and labs, a library and bookstore, student services, lounges, a multipurpose room and rooms equipped with sophisticated presentation and Web-based technologies.
