Jharkhand (/ ˈ dʒ ɑːr k ə n d /; Hindi: [d͡ʒʱɑːɾkʰəɳɖ]; lit. ' the land of forests ') is a state in eastern India. The state shares its border with the states of West Bengal to the east, Chhattisgarh to the west, Uttar Pradesh to the northwest, Bihar to the north and Odisha to the south.
At the time of formation, Jharkhand state had 18 districts. Later, six more districts were carved out by reorganizing these districts. The 23rd and 24th districts- Khunti and Ramgarh (carved out of erstwhile Ranchi and Hazaribagh District respectively) were made a district on 12 September 2007.

KhuntiJH-11. The Khunti Lok Sabha constituency is one of the fourteen Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies in Jharkhand state in eastern India. This constituency is reserved for candidates belonging to scheduled tribes. This constituency covers all of Khunti and Simdega districts and parts of Ranchi and Seraikela Kharsawan districts.
