Coordinates: 42°17′27.4″N. Libertyville District 70 is located in Libertyville, Illinois, about 35 miles north of Chicago in the suburbs. The district includes four elementary schools and one middle school. The elementary schools run from kindergarten through fifth grade, while the middle school consists of sixth, seventh and eighth grades.
History. The 1600 block of Lindenthal Avenue housed Highland High School classes beginning in the fall of 1935. The building was built in part to the National Recovery Act and need for a new public school. The building features a central unit gymnasium with high school classes on the left and grade school on the right.
High School West, also known as Hills West, [citation needed] is located at 375 Wolf Hill Road in Dix Hills, New York. [6] The school was built in 1975 and in its first year was 10th grade only, for class of '78. After its first year of classes, the district was split and the two high schools became typical 10, 11, 12 grade each.
Until the fall of 1999, district students in grades seven and eight had the option of attending the middle school or attending a traditional junior high concept at St. Jacob or Marine. Beginning with the 1999–2000 school year, a district-wide middle school (Grades 6–8) was established and housed at the former Triad High School.
This school serves grades 2-4. After the 2011-2012 school year, Manteno Elementary School is building a massive addition to the school. After it is completed, this will house Pre-K and Kindergarten and 1st grade. Manteno Middle School. Manteno Middle School was built in 1953 and opened in 1955. This school was the second high school.
