Also would be useful to know when a .dmg installer file can be discarded. I've just installed 109 Mb of software, using a .dmg file that's 30 or so Mb. I'd like to ditch this 30 Mb if possible. In the past, I've discarded a .dmg file and then found the software complaining that it couldn't work without it.
